G'day

Post by Andy356B »

G'day

Like many others have been a big fan of the site for a long time but only recently joined. First cars were Beetles (many scraped knuckles) and I am a long time luster-after of 356s, and actually had a wide-body replica kit over 20 years ago which was fairly advanced by the time I sold it but career and maturing tastes put an end to that. (I was going to have it like an open version of the beast created by fellow Aussie Dutton, with a highly modified back end...)

Ahh! Thank God for the wisdom of years.. My first real Porsche was a 928, what a beautiful machine, sold it when moving OS, then needed to buy a 911 to see what all the fuss was about. Bought a 911 Targa T, currently my daily drive, I enjoy every minute of driving and maintaining her. Recently took the plunge, before senility takes me, and have bought a 356 BT5 from a dude in Arizona. It ships in the next few weeks, and will decide then if it is to be original or outlaw. I like both, although probably swaying towards outlaw.

We have a small but active community in my town, with regular drives and excellent craftsmen.

Looking forward to learning from the community, looking at the photos of my unsighted purchase, I may need all the help I can get!

DDK rocks.
