Early 911 Rear Quarter Light seals

Does anyone have any hints or tips (helpful photographic guides/magazine articles etc/recommendations for glue) for replacing the rear quarterlight seals on an early 911. I've bought some replacement seals from Roger Bray and before I take the plunge and cut out the old seals ....

Its an easy job but you may need access to some engineering skills. Remove all the trim. If they are opening type the anodised alloy edges are held by tiny screws into the wing top. ( you soon know how rusty that wing is !!) The window is removed by undoing the flex hinges on the pillar and unscrewing the catch. The seal is held in a channel around the window assembly and will pull out by hand a new one is fitted by carefully fitting it into the alloy profile remaining, bicycle tyre levers will help push the lips under without puncturing them. The glass seal is removed by stripping the surround which is held together with rivets and reinforcing corners. Drill out the rivets and be prepared to make new corners from Stainless Steel ( not as hard as it sounds) Don't bend the frame too much or it will craze . Slide out the old window pull out the seal . Simply reverse to reassemle. 2 hours tops per side.
