greetings from the sandpit

Post by shirt »

hi all,

i've been lurking for a while and keeping a keen eye on the classifiess page, so thought it was time to join up and say hello. i am a longtime member of pistonheads if any of you frequent the site, i know i've seen Helen's fantastic collection of cars on there.

i am currently without a car and have never owned a porsche before, but i consider myself pretty 'up' on the marque. i love 356's [the first car i ever remember lusting after was the speedster on 'doc hollywood' - yes i am an 80s child, hehe].

anway, the main reason i've joined is that i've recently moved out to dubai and am considering buying my first porsche to take advantage of all this sun and cheap petrol! current budget means either a 914 [or a 6 conversion] or 912, but then again i'm also thinking of buying a 3.2 911 and backdating to a pre-73 look. decisions decisions! no matter what i get, i need to add oil cooling and aircon, so expect lots of questions :D
