911 2.7 rs rep
Does this not seem really cheap? Odd why there isn't chrome surrounding the windows?

It's not a 2.7RS replica - & to be fair to the seller he doesn't advertise it as such.
It's a 2.0 T with a mish-mash of later parts .
The exterior trim is probably (painted ?) black because it's a far cheaper way of 'tarting up' the exterior rather than going to the expense of the correct re-anodising...

A lot of current and future value will have been lost in the colour change, left to right conversion and many missing original parts/panels etc
That said not a bad little run about with a few £ spent on it

I sent him an email - response below.
This car isn' for me though - maybe another DDK'er might be interested.

Hello and thanks for your interest in the car.
We have been underselling it really! It belongs to my fitter, who has worked with me for over 20 years. He is an amazing engineer, uncompromisingly thorough - but no good at the internet and none too chatty either! So having taken a couple of years to rebuild it, I have looked after it for the past year because I've got a big garage and he doesn't much like driving while I do.
The car belonged to a family he has known for decades. They bought the car in the 80s; "modernised" it in the early 90s; garaged it in the late 90s and there it has sat until Tony persuaded them to let it be his next hobby. He has a pile of bills and parts from the early 90s onwards.
The modernisation was done by Club Autoworks of Halesowen - still going and they have also helped in the restoration. That's where Tony and the previous family live, so the car never left Halesowen for 30 years and must be the lowest mileage original 1968 model around.
It is a joy to drive and looks great as it is - but if someone wanted to be purist and unmodernise it with original wings and so on, well it won't cost much and will be worth treble the price. Tony and I don't understand that sort of fussiness about having the correct wiper blade and so on, but it takes all sorts....
By all means call me for more of a chat,
All the best,
Jonathan

It needs the two rear seals fitted to be safe to drive if nothing else.

and that 20k was on the bodywork alone, sorry but the car is a real mess, looks quite pretty from a distance.... couldn`t possibly comment if its the same car except that the phone number is on the same industrial estate as me, and by pure coincidence a red 911 rs rep is quite often parked there.........
