Busy couple of days for both Barry and myself. 870 miles in 2 days and for Barry very little sleep.

I travelled down on Monday, Barry has been putting in 10 hour days for the last couple of weeks trying to see the back of this project. Anyway on arrival the car was transformed from the last time i saw it.

The panels flow seamlessly from one to the other 8) very pleased.

The front indicator fit was being tweaked by adding a little lead. Once applied its rasped off to make a better fit.

Before we knew it, it was time to take the shell off the jig and onto the dolly. This was the first time it had been off the jig since December.

Then onto the trailer.

Happy to see this part of the project complete

A BIG THANKS to Barry for his efforts.

Next the car is off for a light blast then into paint. Happy Days.

Kind Regards
John

Just who is that knackered looking, grey-haired old fella in the pics  .

I'll post some 'finished'pics myself later, but a big thank-you to John for being a 'Top customer': a real pleasure to deal with, and made the whole project very much more enjoyable :) .

Can't wait to see it blasted and going into paint ....

Just a few quick ones from me. Once again, terrible shots by me, but give the idea anyway ...

BTW, in the first of those two front shots, you can just about see the lead that was being applied in John's pics.

A very satisfying stage to reach for both of you.

Barry - treat yourself to a day off !

And to a pair of eye protectors :)

Great work and it is so nice to see this kind of meticulous craftsmanship. Credit to you Barry. Keep this thread alive John with the next stage. It is another of those 'must read' adventures.

Regards
Mike

Au contraire, mon ami.
Those are lovely photos Barry.
I'm lovin' the mono imagery, makes sense to not buy colour film, especially as all your metal work is in B&W anyway.

Looks like a superb end result, congratulations. 8)

PS, nice tidy workshop. No wonder the project took so long, you must have been cleaning up all the time.

Could that be the one from my original purple Targa that Alan restored - I seem to remember seeing it in his workshot after he completed the car!

Thanks very much for the kind comments. It's now possible to start thinking about what it's going to be like once finished.

I don't think it will be. I bought it from eBay about 2 years ago the chap lived near Blackpool.

Kind regards
