Twin CDI Ignition Mounting Boards

Post by Barry »

Inspired by Mike's build, when we modified a standard board to take twin CDI units as per twelve plug engines, I've produced a batch of new ones.

There're a number of problems with using an existing board as a donor: finding one in the first place, reproducing in aluminium the extension piece, welding the extension onto what is probably forty year old aluminium (with all of it's contaminants), and finally extending the bead lines across the new part to match up with the old. Ask me how I know this  .

Anyway, these are made from fresh 5251 aluminium, the initial batch has a brushed, bare, finish.

All being well, first one is off to Germany this weekend. Price is £115.00 inc. U.K. P&P.

Price (£115 inc U.K. P&P) now added to orginal text: I must admit that I've really struggled with this element (I'm much happier playing with metal), but hope that sounds fair.

Here is the twin CDI board mounted in my car. As mentioned the fitting accuracy and overall craftmanship is superb.
Kudos for doing these, Barry!

Thank you for posting Christian, I was wondering how you were getting on :) .

As it happens, I've been producing the next lot during this week, so the next batch of boards are now ready, and I'll be P.M.'ing purchasers directly.

These are now back in stock, and when I've got a moment I'll update the pictures with some better ones.

Thanks again for the interest :) .
