Yes Mike. Spotted you in the Disco but were almost past when I twigged it was you. The car is just about driveable but the main problem is under light load it stutters and when I stop the engine the No 1 Venturi fills with fuel so flooding No 1 cylinder. Remember you commented that there was a "4 th cylinder in there somewhere" when I restarted at your place?

Hi Mike. The body has had some paint, measuring about 450 DFT on the flat panels and the history file documents this. I guess this can be expected with over 160k on the clock.

I am pretty relaxed about the original seats (apart from when actually sitting in them). I just could not see myself ever re-fitting them. I have cellars full of original Harley parts that I put away "just in case"! I don't have the space (or frankly the budget) to get into that with the Porsche.

I am still undecided about the wheels, I like "different", I can appreciate slavish originality but it's just not for me plush I hate polishing alloy. I want my car to be unique hopefully without being gross and whilst maintaining a nod to the original styling. I have kept (and will keep) the original painted steels with chrome hubcaps and they are pretty much pristine.

Each to their own as we say in a tolerant society.

Dougie,, I must have passed near your front door on Wednesday this week as I was on holiday and took "Helga" for a jaunt through Girvan, Stranraer, Newton Stewart, Girvan then home to Dundonald.

Crackin weather, crackin roads, classic Porsche, doesn't get much better (even with carb problems).

Mike. re the rubber overiders, I have seen on another forum a scanned copy of an original Californian purchase invoice for a 67 12 specifying "Rubber Bumperettes" as an option. The oftenwrong restorers guide also suggests this.

Actually Mike did mention my stickers, fortunately he did not pull his stick out though (the missus was there).

The attention to detail makes sense............he is an Optician.
