not me !!

But, just helped a new DDK'er collect his new car today.

It hadn't been used for years, so it's had Mike bainbridge service it & give it a check over, then David Raper @ car-tech & care has done a lot of work to the suspension & brakes

, new rear torsion bars, new rear bushes, new rear bilstein shocks, all 4 callipers restored by classicar, new anti-roll bushes + a full suspension alsetup & alignment + 4 new tyres..... I'm a bad influence

I'll let him introduce himself, but here are some photos of the new car & the details I can remember ( excuse the mud, the roads around here are awful at the moment ! )

1973 2.4T,
CIS
Recaro Sport Seats
S-oil Cooler
Sunroof
S-trim pack
Arch trims
Front & rear anti-roll bars

May I suggest illegal black and silver/white number plates!

The mirrors fixed and S will have a topper of a motor. Tell him congrats from me and I am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. I love the interior detail.

Saw this car down at Mike B's,great looking car.
Got a surprise when I looked in the engine bay.Was cis available when car was new,or is it a later install.

Not necessarily: I had a 73.5 CIS 911T some years ago which was manufactured 10/72

That must be an unusual or rare car Nick?
I thought cis was from Jan 73 build only?
Would like to hear more. Was it a test car?

For US cars, CIS was standard on the T for the latter half of '73 production. This car is a very late 73 car, can't quite remember the manufaqcture date, but I think it is late June '73.

Drives very nicely & has a lot of low down grunt.

Also, for those who have spotted it, the aluminium 'turned' plates on the door pockets & sills ..... it appears from info on the early esses board that these are period aftermarket bits of kit

not as far as I'm aware ? Maybe that's what they called it at the time ? The new k-jet ( cis) was fitted to meet new emmission standards whilst keeping the power the same as previous ( 140bhp). Just been reading up on CIS engines, looks like they fitted the mildest cams they'd ever fitted to a 911, but lifted the compression ratio. The 73 is very similar to the IB k-jet systems. Simon will have to read up about it all & learn how it works

Good to see some positive comments about the car - thanks. It was a good drive back down to Leeds and gave the car a quick wash before it got dark so no decent photo's of it a bit cleaner yet but they will follow.

Must express my thanks to James for helping find the car, transporting me around the country to collect it and directing me to the right people for the work I've had done. Mike and David have done a great job and I have confidence that the car will serve me well!

Mike - changes to mirrors and number plates planned.

I need to learn a bit more about cis as it's relatively rare in the UK so hope there are a few other owners out there.

Not rare at all. CIS (Continuos Injection System) or K Jetronic was fitted on most 911s from 1974 to 1983 and Turbos up to 1990 or so.
The Bill of Sale in Nick's post lists 'Mechanical Fuel Injection'..

Some people refer to CIS as "mechanical", after all it's not "electronic" as in EFI
