We would like to think that every car we sell is in fine order, but once in a while we come across a car that makes us re-evaluate everything we thought we knew about originality, condition, maintenance and driving experience.
This is such a car.
It was imported to the UK in 2010 having been purchased direct from its first and only US owner. It has covered a little over 43,000 fully documented miles, which in itself is remarkably low, but it is clear from the condition that every mile has been a careful one, the look and feel could easily be that of a car with one-tenth of this mileage.
It is not a fully restored car, it is a beautifully, meticulously preserved one. No restoration, no matter how brilliant, could recreate this machine.
The leather is soft and supple, the brightwork unpitted and unscratched, the engine bay and underside is as lovely as the top of the car.
It is supplied with an incredible history file, including every receipt from the delivery invoice to its most recent servicing at renowned concours champions Road Scholars, all neatly sleeved and bound. There are also various photographs from throughout its lifetime.
It has been shown and has won in the US, but to date has never been displayed in Europe.
Thankfully however, despite such glorious condition it is not a garage queen. It drives quite beautifully, with such precision and tightness that it is impossible to imagine it was any better the day it left the factory.
The car is now UK registered and duty paid and is supplied with its current RHD headlight lenses and its LHD items.
