Wheel looks the real deal and should be great after a few test pieces?
Car looks equally fine though I would make the wheel more vertical, but a nice look to say the least.
Wood and splinters then, and metal and cuts after. Facinating stuff.
Hi Ren, missed your suggestion on the air vents. I think we'll play it by ear on that one - if we don't need them we won't bother, but if we need more air to the engine then we'll have to think of something. I expect this to be one of a very long list of development points we have to tick off as the car comes together and we start shakedown testing.
Graham, are you referring to the steering wheel? I agree with you and we need to modify it anyway as it doesn't have a double joint in the column so doesn't self-correct to the centre.

Wow that English wheel looks much bigger than I imagined.
The car is looking very sorted now with all sides done in paper.
Looking at the back I thought it could be possible to incorporate airscopes
going down both sides of the window and maybe make the rest of the
window in plastic... hmm well just a thought anyway.
Yes, it was the angle of the stering wheel. looks a bit 'Mini'/'bus' angle to me. Best sit in the car with a suitable seat to judge things, but driver comfort is paramount.
Several posts ago i suggested you sat in the car and this is what i was getting at. Easy to build-in a difficult position and have numb arms etc quickly.
Steve I remember you asked about some paint ideas a while back,
I know your far from there yet but it can't be bad trying to get a mental
picture of the car even at this stage...
I've used one of Barry's last photos as base and just let it roll.
(First image is a white "base" image incase someone wants to colour it.)
Nige, I'm not one to blow my own trumpet (can't afford the spine operation...) but as you insist I thought I'd turn my hand to it.
My thinking is why go back to the 60's when the 70's are perfectly satisfactory - I'm thinking Starsky & Hutch meets Ironside. I might have coloured outside the edge on a bit of the stripe but I don't think anyone will notice.
Next!
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah
