TBH, at a couple of hundred or so, it'll get used by me. If it was £1000, it would rarely be allowed out.

I'll have a ponder over Christmas, but it looks like a goer at the moment ....

Not the best website but plenty of models to see. The octopus diver watch has been mentioned in a few forums I noticed.

Seems an order can be customised too. So for example the hands might be available in a different colour or the case could be supplied with a brushed finish rather than fully polished.

agreed!..

there's been a bit of a trend recently with "not replica's, but very close hommages" in the watch world.. they seem a lot more socialy acceptable, but theres no denying it; they are definitely made to look just like the original at first glance/from 10ft

As for the - fake / copy / inspired by / general style of - debate: I'm happy with a known style, but wouldn't want to look as though I was bigging up my watch wearing at all. I'm more than happy for others to look at the thing and realise that it's not £1-3000+ of watch, just as long as I like the watch for what it is.

Might even save me being mugged

As it happens, I might see my horology chum Clive over the break about the vintage watches. Trouble is, it's nearly two months later and I'm not sure he's even had the chance to find a suitable case for any of the candidates, let alone start the re-build. So, nice idea, but I suspect that I could be forty two before I actually get my hands on my fortieth birthday watch

Hi Barry,

I tried on a Big Pilot recently and was shocked at how large it actually is - laughably so, in fact. The Kemmner looks to be of similar dimensions so it might be worth trying (in store) something similar in size before buying on-line. Just a suggestion! It does look to be a great looking watch though. Good luck!

they look great bootsy! are they supposed to be used as a pair for rally timing and things?

i'm hoping my xmas bonus in march will be enough to cover a nice new watch (keeping an eye out for a nice hand-wind 70's speedmaster)

I bought them from a jewellery in South Africa and he has no idea what they were originally used for. I would suggest that they were a pair and used together for rallying as their serial numbers are within a few digits of each other.

Shame to split them up but I'm looking to trade one for a MonteCarlo to make up a Heuer Rallye pairing

I've just picked up this cool old Bullhead- not everyones cup of tea I'm sure but my current favourite!

Circa 1974 Seiko Speedtimer, Brown Dial, Gold subs very thick steel case - runs like a top.
