An apology

Post by Bootsy »

A two fold apology

1. For having to ban somebody from the forum for the first time in our history. DDK has always stood for an inclusive forum with little moderation and its a shame to have to resort to this but unfortunately some people just go too far

2. For any change in the tone given this tool's recent behaviour. Thanks for all the pms of support. This community means a lot to me and I'm not about to see it dragged down by idiots

Over and out.

It's a shame.

Most people know I'm not afraid to say what I think and am happy to be controversial and poke and wind people up a bit. But it's all done in jest when it happens and to people who know what I'm doing.

Unfortunately I think Gaz had no concept of community or respect, not even for the forum owners so there was only ever going to be one inevitable outcome.

Think you had little choice Tom as he was going to keep his attitude up whatever the advice he was given...

Don't let it get to you mate, life is top short and this is THE BEST PORSCHE FORUM there is. :)

At least he will have a home over on PH I'm sure.

Bootsy

I followed all the threads in question and you have my full support on this one. I did not see Gaz ask one question, ask for any opinion or offer any constuctive comments. This alone of course is not enough to ban someone but the associated attitude and unstoppable rudeness and flowing insults went too far and I fear would not have stopped without your actions.
You gave him a chance and he threw it back in your face.

Pity to ban someone but we are better off without without him.

I think you should have all the support of DDK on this. It is such a great forum and long may it continue.

Edit, no need to apologize for this.
Regards
Mike

Despite my avid 'attendance' on DDK I must have missed all the issues..

however, it is paramount that the spirit and just good nature of all forums is protected.

Before coming to DDK i was an avid member of Scoobynet (as i raced a hot Impreza on the hills then) and that place was simply a Zoo, one in particular was incerdibly antagonistic to all. One can be very upsetting, two not allowed.

I am sure you have done the right thing for the Forum and for all of us.

DDK is simply the best forum i can name and you should be well pleased the way the community works together.

It all moves onwards and upwards! :drunken:

Thomas, you sometimes have a heavy burden of reeling us all in and the vast majority of us are grateful for it.

I support your every decision in the past five years I've been lucky enough to be a member :-) Now.....

Now he's crowing about it on Pinto Power
Today i got banned from the Porsche forum !!!! lol , FPMSL
Talk about stropey fooookers , even more stropey/touchey than the oldskoolford admin (if that's possible , lol) . As usual i was only talking about car parts , tuning mods , rolling roads etc etc and trying to educate the dim wits but their heads are too far up their own arses too understand . Another internet clique of saddos . .
I'll add them to the list then .

Turbosport = banned for defending the Pinto .
Passionford = banned for defending Torque of the Devil.
Oldskoolford = banned for saying "nitrous is cheating" (and guess what , it still is !!!)
Porsche (wax jacket wearing and Chelsea tractor driving with a chocolate Lab in the back) forum = banned for trying to too help the losers sort out their 50bhp per litre engines .

Not a pleasant thing for you to do Bootsy but as others have said it needed doing. He was a prat and seemed intent on causing as much disruption as possible.

No reason for you to apologise.

Every reason for us to say Thank You !

I totally support the postion you were forced to take Bootsy. DDK is a great forum and is, in my expeience, unique in its community feel and the level of support its members give personally and wider.

I know I wouldn't have progressed so far with my project without this great reference point on so many levels. The apology is not neccesary.

Bless him, I'm glad we've given him something to help fill his sad little life with.

Banned from four forums, will the penny ever drop? I doubt it, it requires a modicum of intelligence to get the hint, something Gaz (who for some reason uses a girls email address) is not blessed with.

Anyway, must dash. The Chelsea Tractor needs a wash and the dog needs a walk.
