Yup, plenty of interesting articles in there, even for the uninitated like me... how the net has influenced the market with watch bloggers & e-tailers, NYC design students challenged by TAG Heuer to re-design Monaco.. oh and a piece about the Haslinger Heuer collection going under the hammer next month.

The Auction in December will be very interesting! It's been heavily publicised so who knows where the prices will be. Arno's collection is a one off in that the majority of the pieces are NOS or 'unobtainable'

I'll be there and in fact a select gathering Heuer collectors from around the world are guests of TAG for a private viewing and drinks the night before and then we are off out for a meal. Arno Haslinger will be with us so we will get some inside tips!

Are the cases made from "unobtanium" ??

Sounds like that's a once in a lifetime event and night out for a watch guy, enjoy!

Yes, that's the stuff!

Indeed Mitch, should be quite an evening. There's about 20 fellow collectors from around the world getting together in a nice select club in the West End for a meal and watch chat.

Only dress code is a Heuer on each wrist!

There's a short video on u tube (i think) with Arno giving some background to the sale and collection.

This is a very well publicised event in the watch world.

Good marketing - with sky high prices no doubt!

Especially when you factor in buyers premium and vat.

Surely only well heeled collectors will be buying here - no margins for dealers??

Going up for a day out but doubt I'll be buying here!!

I think that could be the case. Be Intersting to see how post auction prices level out.

I'm not planning on bidding on anything apart from on a few lots on behalf of a collector I sold a Monaco to who can't be there.

I think the post auction prices will be very interesting - will the auction permantly lift prices or will there be a short term blip?

Whatever happens I think an 'Arno Collection' watch will carry a premium from that day onwards, provenance and all that.

Clever and expensive marketing -

Quiet a few American cousins (OTD) will be there I'm sure but if Chinese or Russians get exicted it could be a good spectacle!

I'll say hi on the 15th.

two examples of my dream watch on ebay at the moment, the black bezeled white face Daytona!
Has to be the one with the red Daytona script over the center dial I think, the one without looks a bit dodgy to me!
