I have made a bit of progress today. I took the angle grinder to the girl, it was quite enjoyable. The offside rear quarter came off first.

then the offside outer sil came off.

It looks as if there wasnt much holding the front and rear of the sill to the rest of the shell :shock:

Any way that was expected. Now to the nearside rear quarter.

you can see where the original stone guard or underseal has missed the top of the inner wing.

Stripped the under seal and quite a bit of corrosion but the chassis leg looks good.

I don’t think it is too bad, Barry is popping round tomorrow so he will know better. I was expecting to find rot but most of it seems to be relatively easy to repair......I think.

You can see the piece of foam that was put in during assembly at the factory between the inner and outer skin.

I have given the inner wings a quick wire brush and they don’t look too bad.

Just might be worth saying that the tops of the inner wings right at the rear of the engine bay had very little protection on it probably due to the area being awkward to get to, its going to get some better protection when it goes back together.

I see a nice set of REAL RS arches, NOS RS rear quarters and lovely 8 inch minilites on a light ivory body with the original plain engine lid. Lovely.

You little bugger, you have only put a spanner in the works, mmmmmm a light ivory car similar to richards 2.4 but with am early front valance.
