Oops! I did it again!!

Went to Dorset Steam Fair yesterday and drove the Porsche Junior tractor now belonging to Peter Bradley that I had owned for over 20 years.

Found myself on ebay tonight as successful bidder on another Junior tractor -
am I mad?

All answers on a £50 note gratefully received.

Chris

I blame it all on J Hearn.

Well James,

My last restoration took place over 20 years -I am a little too old for that now.

I may well do the Temp resto as described by Crispin Manners "I just sprayed a large coating of WD40 over everything" and see how it goes,

Tractor arrived today with German registration document showing the last owner as Rudolph Butz !

Hope it bodes well - sticking brake and throttle were quickly sorted too.

Ok,

For quickness here is the ebay link. Not for the faint hearted!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 500wt_1154

I can report that today the awful rollover protection bars and the Rasspe sidecutter mower have been removed, new tyres sourced and carefull consideration given to the most economic/sympathetic way forward.

Engine starts easily and seems to run well - better than my Wife's temper after hearing that I had squandered (her?) money yet again.

Time permitting I will post pictures of my previous Junior as I sold(2002), and as I drove last weekend.

I was a volounteer driver at the Steam Fair and thoroughly enjoyed it - it was one of the best Porsche events I've been too and despite previously having no interest in tractors, Porsche or otherwise, I found myself falling for their charms....
I've even started looking at classic tractor magazines in the hope of seeing an article on vinyard tractors, coffee tractors or trailers driven from the PTO....things I didn't know existed until last week. Do I need help???

I've got to agree, it was a week-long giggle :bom:

I have never been to any other Porsche event like it.

Terry, Sally and all of the others who worked so hard to put it on deserve a big vote of thanks from all of us.

(I even missed a meeting at Wiscombe Park to go........................... )

Cheers! :drunken:

Delivered tonight and "her in doors" is paying for it as my 60th birthday present next week.................
god knows how she's going to wrap it up, and anyway I've seen it, driven it, and salavated over it.

Happy aircooled-diesel motoring (should that be ploughing?)

Anyone reading this thread got a startermotor for a "standard" ? mine came without one and the one I thought I had a line on abroad turns out not to be, Bugger!

Pain in the backside to tow start each time I want to imress a visitor.

Like the details on yours, on your photobucket Chris.

When is there going to be a hillclimb event for tractors??
