Door fit - 356 rep

Hi
Have a Pilgrim and the bottom edge of the door almost touches the sill. The sill seems to hump up very slightly, if you know what i mean...

Just about to be painted so is there any solution to this??

Paul,
you either take some of the door bottom to match the sill or sand back the sill to match the door. If only slight taking of the door would be easier. What colour have you gone for..

Rich I had the same prob with my Pilgrim as u will see if u look back on this forum .I had a lot of ill fitting parts , Mr Tanner admitted 2 me that thay just lay the body on the floor after coming out of its mould! as u no the sills are the weakest points so thay will bow if not on a jig .To sort the prob I got some resin & glass off Mr Tanner & I got some stainless steel angle ,screwed the sills straight & fibre glassed in upside down .Also look at the doors that the 2 skins r bonded together properly (mine werent)my boot was awfull as well so I got a new boot off him but not bonded together so I could get it to fit correct! good luck

best pic I have. I will be having condor yellow. Going into the paint shop this week to try to fix doors. Also my boot lid is naff and will be filled to meet the edge of the body properly. The bonnet is too long as well!!! And yes the door has split apart in places and needs some fibre glass running along the seams grrr

Oliver, not sure I quite understand - are you saying fix a bracket under the sill to pull it down?

l think what oliver did was get some steel/stainless angle the length of the sill. From under the car position the sill closest to the outside edge and drill and screw from above. Use self drill countersink screws. This will clamp the body(sill) to the steel underneath. The rubber mat on the door threshold will hide the screws. Better do this before paint though. Let us know how you get on. Did your wife forgive you for talking about cars when l phoned you on your camping trip??

haha yes just about - we had just started putting the tent up when you rang! Perfect timing
