Any sparkies out there?
Hi
I have bought a pair of electric hairdryers - both 150w for the screen demister.
Can anyone suggest what relay I would need to cover this power and cable sizes? There seems to be a couple of kits on ebay that might do.
If I have to make it up, I understand pins 85 and 86 are to the switch and 30 is +12v (switched?) and 87 earth?
Guess I will have to be careful with the switch too? Was going to use a lucas type pull switch.
thanks in advance
Paul

This may help
http://www.bcae1.com/relays.htm
Gnd pin 86, connect 85 via a switch (only a few mA so low current switch will do) This will operate the relay.
Connect the 12V via a fuse to pin 30. and the two heaters (In parallel) to pin 87.
GND the other side of the heaters.
The heaters are 150W, so at 12V thats 12.5A (I assume that's each)
If the relay is running both, then a 30A relay will be fine.
There's a wire rating chart here http://www.constructorscarclub.org.nz/A ... part5.html

Wiring brake test switch
Hi
I have bought an 'sva' ok brake resvervoir with a built in switch - then read somewhere that it needs to be testable from the dash! Doh. Any ideas how this should be wired as currently I don't have this in the loom - the loom is about 6 years old - older thank IVA!
thanks

Haven't got a switch on the handbrake - how/have you fitted one gerry? I've got a momentary switch for the dash and will wire this in parallel to the reservoir switch.
