except there wasn't a 2.4S in 1970

so basically it's a 1969 S shell chopped about bit to make it into an Impact bumper look a like + modified to take a 915 box & a 1973 2.4S engine.

It's a real bitza. Nice car in it's own right, but can't really be advertised as a 2.4S or even as a 1969 / 70 S. Considering this I think it should be valued slightly less than a decent Carrera RS rep ( the pre-73 look being more desirable) ?

That's not one of the UK RHD chassis numbers ...

Wonder where the chassis originated from?

Agree wholeheartedly with James, nice car but the impact bumper front wings and bumper spoil it for me, plus the fact that its a mix & match of 2.4, 2.2, etc, and maybe a left to right conversion ?

Without seeing the car in the flesh and giving it a run round the block , it appears to be in the right asking price bracket for an RS look a like with new bits and good paint.
The original '69S chassis has been minimised (!) and updating it/downgrading it to impact bumper look maybe goes against the market. Hopefully its an S gearbox with LSD as well as an S engine. The ad is silent on brakes and suspension upgrade so the car might be slower than it looks

FWIW , I did pay similar money almost 2 years ago for a 1969E coupe with rebuilt 1972 2.4S engine and box , and with lots of updated suspension and brake components.....a bitza under the skin ....but I guess not the same proposition as this car. :?:

I went to have a look at this car at the weekend - needs a lot of work to finish. Has MFI issues, no real evidence of engine rebuild etc. Has been converted left to right and not very nicely. Came into the uK i the eighties from US and was then turbo bodied. I dont reckon its worth more the £15k most.
