Building a Pilgrim Speedster. IVA tipsters?

Post by bonerp »

Hi I am new here. Have been building a part built speedster for the last 6 weeks and am find some of the technical requirements around complying with the IVA a little testing to say the least.

Main issues immediately are the fuel filler. I can't seem to get enough angle on the filler pipe - mine is little more than horizontal. This can't be good!?! I am locating an aero cap (until post test) in the top of the o/s wing up by the windscreen. Also having to fit a one way rollover breather valve.

Next major problem is seat belt height. TBH I don't know the height issue yet as I dont have any seats but I believe it will need raising a couple of inches. I understand a couple of you may have made up some raisers? How did you do this - or would they be available for me to 'borrow' if you have done with them?

As part of my build I am going to create an IVA pack. This will contain essentials such as mirrors, fuel cap, reflectors, seat belt raisers etc just for the test (if its necessary!). I will then make this available to the next builder to share the lurve of the iva!!! And make it a little easier for the next guy. Did this before in the Tiger owners club and it worked well.

Also can those of you who have IVA'd share the special bits we need to pay attention to?

thanks
Paul
