well at least one bits finished, one RSR gearbox all done and ready to go in.
I say ready to go in, but it will be coated with tectyl just before it's fitted and the mounts will be refinished silver instead of bling gold!

I've lost count of the amount of times I've re-read this thread and I've no idea what half of it's about.
It just looks amazing and absolutely brilliant work.
Keep it up

Mike, you're spending too much time on the mechanicals and neglecting the interior. You need to sort it out...

Unbelievably it's exactly 3 years to the day from when I started this thread!

Thought I'd better update things for the anniversary, on the engine front still a delay as we wait for the cams, they have been holding us up for months
but last week I took them to another spark eroding specialist for the modifications they need so should be back soon, fingers crossed! The high output
alternator finally arrived, so the wiring is done and the fan finally went in. The flexible mfi fuel lines are being made as we speak, new injectors have just
been fitted and this week the plug leads go on.

All the fibreglass 'tinware' has now been fitted up a time consuming job to get right, and the 3 special parts around the racing oil filter housing which
replaces the oil cooler have been sourced and re-coloured to match the rest of the set, that alone has taken a few months, so as soon as the cams are
back we can fit them with the solid rockers set the cam timing and then the engine's pretty much done.

As for the car itself, trial fitted the seats yesterday to line up the harnesses, I love them as they make such a change from race car black, but they may
not be everyone's cup of tea! Need to finish off the front brake lines and front lights, can't wait to fit the cibie biodes but the front bumper has to go on
first and I'm waiting for the fabricator to finish the new front grill, it's these little fabrication jobs which seem to take an age. He's also doing the fuel filler
splash tray which will complete the underhood area apart the spare wheel which I'm hoping will be a bit special, Alan UK is on top of that one.

Apologies for not taking any pics recently, have enough of that with the day job, but here's one of the seats before they went in and a couple of the fuel
filler flap, the hinge half will be painted when the final paint touch up is done.

Doesn't look like it's going to make the CLM deadline then Mike ?

I bet you didn't envisage when you started this project that you'd still be building it 3 years down the line !

It's been fascinating watching the car develop & the attention to detail & the standard of workmanship of those involved is awe-inspiring.

Mike:

It is hard to believe it has been 3 years since you and Neil came over to look at the car, and even more astonishing watching your attention to details as you took a pretty neat 72 RSR prototype tribute to the most authentic RSR Prototype on the planet. When I see pictures of your #107, I almost feel like it is the original car, especially since the original doesn't exist anymore.

I am looking forward to hearing it roar soon (youtube), and to one day seeing it 'in the metal' at an event. Congratulations on such a magnificent job of building a true work of art.

Mike, Happy Anniversary! However long it's taken, you know you love the journey as much as getting there!

I for one love the seats, very cool.

Hard to believe that seeing the RSR at Silverstone was nearly 3yrs ago....

Thanks for the kind words Andy, and no sadly no CLM for me again this year  The car has taken on a life of it's own now
and the only way to go with it is to say it will be ready when it's ready!

Gib, great to see the old pictures on the ranch again especially the mustang, a little different than the heap we turned up
in last time! Love to Edy.

Mitch, great picture from Silverstone, now why did I take it apart...........
cheers, Mike.

3 years!

I fell in love with it at Silverstone (you can see the love in my furrowed brow above!)

However I have a feeling I'll love it even more when it's finished this time around.

Those seats are the biz.
I love the tartan.

I was sat in the ex-Kremer, Samson '73 RSR the other day making brum brum noises.
That car is the dogs, and my favorite 911, but it doesn't have tartan seats.

Thanks tea boy, glad you like the seats! They went in easily enough on the proper original Recaro lightweight runners and sliders,
one set I had and the other which took a while to find. The lightweight cross bars for them I had to have re-manufactured.
Will post more pics shortly.

Mines milk and one sugar by the way.........

Fitted up the cibie biode headlights over the weekend, love the smooth flat look to the clear glass. Put new connectors on to wire
straight into the existing loom, just have to fit a relay or two to cope with the power
