My name is Derek. I've been looking for an internet forum that was more geared towards old classic Porsches and ran into this forum. Figured I'd register up and say hello. Saw a lot of really cool looking 911s on here, lots of older vintage and classic Porsches which is pretty much all I'm addicted to.
I'm a sucker for old Porsches. I recently had the chance to obtain an older 911 or an older 914. The 911 cars I've been looking at lately all needed work and some serious maintenance. The 914 cars were also serious rustbuckets. I recently found an owner with a very nice 914 - fresh rebuild on the engine and the original interior and original pieces, even down to the original working radio.
This is my first aircooled Porsche that I've owned, and have looked forward to owning one for a very long time.
Aside from that, I spend most my days working on my motorcycles or my Porsches. I am building a 1977 Porsche 924 as a trackday car, and have a 1984 Porsche 944 for my daily aside from the 914 (which is my preservation, historical beauty weekend car). Driving, riding, going on trips, purposely getting lost and finding my way home. Long as I'm driving something I enjoy or riding something out in some back canyon twisties, I'm happy
Not sure if there's any bike nuts here but I also have a few bikes as well.
here's some pictures of my cars and bikes.
This is my 914, 1970. Non-appearance group - only option was the radio.

Here's the 944 - she's not super purdy but I do love it

This is the most recent body picture I have of the 924. It's come a long way since then... But is being stripped down and is smack dab in the middle of a rebuild.

And my pride and joy. Totally unrelated to Porsche. But just in case we have any bikers on here

Came here mostly looking for my interest in older Porsches so I can learn more and talk to other fanatics.
