Battery charger through cig lighter!

I had a new TVR for a while and was recommended a battery trickle charger that you just plug into cig later and just leave which worked very well.

My 356 has the 12v conversion and the cig lighter works so my question is can I use it on my 356 to charge the battery or will it cause damage to the electrics?

I think the ciggi lighter needs be 'live' at all times. If it only comes on with the ignition then these don't work ( I think ?? )

I use a hard wired one on my battery with a connector to undo

So if it's a live cig lighter and I plug it in it won't damage anything?

no. won't harm anything as there are no ECu's. The current flow is minimal to from these trickle charges.
