These are all really good ideas, but actually making it is another thing!

How is your progress? all this sun must be getting you in the workshop!

Steve,

There have been some more photos entered on the Stepan Gencev 550spyder real aluminium body thread on the registry site. Its on the Classified 356 parts and accessories section of the forum.

He really does some great work and seems he even will do smaller items for people. Worth while just looking at the photos!

Hi Roy,

Thanks for this. I've spent some time discussing the Special with Stepan. He certainly knows his beans. My one concern is the location - based so far away makes it difficult to monitor progress and work through issues.

I have one guy in mind for the bodywork (but unsurprisingly) he is booked up 18 months in advance. Does anyone know of a really good coachbuilder who would be happy to do a one-off, and is in the East Sussex/Kent region?

Cheers,
Steve

Either the blue one or No 9 for me: first time I looked I would have said the blue for certain, now I'm leaning the other way.

Either way, I'm in awe of what clever folk can do with these renderings (and indeed those can do the same in pen-n-ink as well). If ever I see Overhaulin' I always find the best bit is the Foose drawing. If ever I try anything similar, it looks as though it ought to be signed 'Barry, aged 7 3/4'.

Barry, I'll even give you a dedicated space in the workshop where you can leave all your stuff out. you could just tinker at the weekends over the english wheel....
