Hello from Warwickshire

Post by Richi996 »

Dear DDK members , i have been a member for a while now but have spent too much time reading then actually writing something .
I am half Swiss " yes another one " and half English and always swing to the side that does the best at football .. so no hints there ....
I have grown up in all parts of the world due to my Father " known on DDK as Mitso " and when i was born 43 years ago my Father was already a proud owner of a 356 and at one time worked for Porsche in Stuttgart ... so Porsches have always been part of a life style .
I myself owned my First and Only Porsche at the age of 18 when i lived in Switzerland and it started life as a fully original 2.4 911E.At the age of 20 the mods started and i had the arches added along with the other basic bits to full fill my ambition to own what looked like an RS ...
I was eventually posted to the UK and due to work i mainly had the car in Storage ... below is the picture of the removal truck picking her up to take her where i live now in Warwickshire .The lady has since undergone a full back to metal restoration and had new panels in various places .. work was done by an ex Rolls panel beater by the name of Dave Feltham.
The car is now down my garden in my own little workshop being assembled " since 5 years  but i am getting there slowly.
I have a 2.8 twin plug with carrera 6 cams , 901 distributor , 46 IDA carbs and a few little extras that will be placed in the rear " keep thing original hey " insulation is bare minimal and will have a light weight interior with only enough seats for me and the Baby .. the missus can take the train .
The car is still based on the RS look but for me it is more about adding my touches then to recreate a perfect RS ..it is just not in my budget now that the family has started to grow .. and hell i must be due my inheritance soon .. so dad if you are reading ...Wink Wink  .
Well i hope to get to know some of you guy's and see you at the Le Mans Classic .

All the best Richard

Thanks Mike ... she has since grown up and flown the nest , and company is gone belly up .. all good news
Ran the engine 1 month ago after 20 Years rest !!!! .. you wont believe me but it idled over at about 800 rpm right from the start .
I have just removed some parts AGAIN which i want to get powder coated ... and it is a good excuse now to finish the rest of the car instead of tinkering with the engine .............

Cheers Richard
