Hi Tim, thanks for asking, been a bit quiet recently as I thought I might be boring people to death! Having said that, not much to
report either while building the dyno cell is taking up all Neil's time. But just to show you something, here's the latest pic of the
motor, just been fitting up the mfi pump on it's rubber bushed RSR mounting bracket.

Mike's RSR

I agree, its jaw droppingly (is that a word, and if it is, is that how you spell it?) beautiful. Will it make CLM this year Mike?

Tim, the Targa Florio is looking highly unlikely now, but I still have my fingers crossed for Classic le Mans!

Martin, the shroud and the rest of the 'tinware' 14 pieces in all has been specially made for this project along with lots of other parts like the dizzy,
mfi pump stuff, racing oil filter housing, anti roll bar kit, gearbox oil pump kit and other bits which are all at the prototype stage at the moment.
I'm hoping maybe in the future to develop this more but at the moment I've got to concentrate on the car and get it finished!!
cheers, Mike.

Mike, paint job on engine cover and front hood looks outstanding.
Did you have the MFI pump brace manufactured,or can these still be sourced from suppliers?
How's the development of rear arms going,I'm still looking for a pair.

Dougie

Dougie, there was someone in the States doing the mfi support arm but it didn't look right to me, also the reason RSR's had them was that the pump
actually sits on a rubber bushed mount so that's been made too. This is all to stop the fuel in the pump frothing at high revs from vibration.

Still working on the rear arm situation, I have standard arms fitted as a 72 prototype car, albeit with the calipers mounted to the rear, but I'm
building an RSR set as spares, will let you know how it goes.
cheers, Mike.

Mike, was wondering if your fitting some sort of cold start system and if so what your plan is.On my engine,Mike B at Kendal is fabricating an aluminum spacer plate to fit between trumpets and throttle bodies, and drill fuel pipes through it.(Will have to keep spacer plate as thin as possible). To get the fuel into the throttle bodies it will be wired up to a solenoid on top of the fuel filter.

Hi Dougie, sorry not to get back to you sooner been a bit tied up this week. I'm going to stay as close to the original RSR set up as I can so no 'squirters' for me!
The car will be started from cold from the rear, with the manual fuel enrichment knob on the pump, a fuel spray bottle and a fire extinguisher close at hand
cheers, Mike.
