Although Lightweights don't have a clock, passenger sun visor or glove box lid, these items are so useful that they are installed in 1101.

i saw this car about 2 years ago , the owner wud not agree to an inspection at a garage 20 mins away ! FROM WHAT could be seen in a 'garden shed' where it seemed to have been for some time , away from owners main collection of superb old English and Italian kit.................body work in need of serious help though basically sound , drove as described in Ad , very quick , strange suspension settings IMO and brakes fine ........................apart from glove box cover had one rear qtr window trhat opened ........now that is beyond eccentric ! Lots of dubious bits .........................he was so difficult to deal with my friend and i walked away having made offer £100 + at the time far from silly ..................................if the car has had body work since then would need to have been done very thoroughly to be meaning ful ...............cannot write here what i really think but justified by going to auction ..........................when did u last see one advertised let alone auctioned ,?? Mostly sold by word of mouth

To give a contemporary perspective , a nearly mint car white with green was purchased in Switzerland by my friend who took me to see this at £185k...............albeit lhd , therefore not one of 17 ! However eminently far more marketable in the Global community

It would appear to be a genuine car as described that needs money and sourcing of rare parts .............................finished now maybe £300k? so the owner did well to stick to his guns and throw us out!

If you have a car that rare (and a RHD M471 is rare!) then why would you, in your right mind, put it in for sale incorrectly prepared and with an auction house like H&H (who while, I'm sure are very nice chaps, their usual fair is Rover P6's, Jag E-Types etc. )???!??

With a car like this, wherever there are questions, there are usually answers a buyer won't like......

Uncle P my gut feeling ....a genuine car , molested by unscrupulous folk down the line ,when the value was much lower .......................my concern ..................if, as i saw it stil,l open cheque book joke ................i mean no top side figure!

The owner who we met might be described as slightly arrogant ................it was take it or leave it , the guy i went with was Presindent of one of th EU Porsche clubs , and introduced personally .................so it was nt just me he took a dislike too!

How could anyone dislike a cuddly teddy bear such as yourself??

It's often the case, people won't admit the faults with their cars to themselves - hey ho - he's the looser as IF prepared correctly, history sorted etc it's a valuable and highly desirable car. Be interesting to see what H&H achieve with it. Wrong location for this kind of motor though. Just mho.
