original Porsche 356 by Lawrence Meredith

Post by Johnny Graham »

My step Dad has the meredith VW beetle book which is a lovely thing, lush photos, so I thought I would pick up Meredith's 356 book on amazon hoping it would be as nice..but its hundreds of pounds. Motorbooks dont list it..
I thought the Pellow books were pricey, sheesh..Am I missing something? Anyone have one for sale for, err, normal money? Or recommend an alternative? Its for me hollies later this month.
Cheers, Johnny

It must be out of print. There's a copy on ebay for £30 if you really want it.
However there are a few mistakes in it. The Gmund Coupe photographed in the book isn't one!

Johnny,

If you want another book with a lot of pictures of owner restored cars then its OK but personally I would not pay more than a tenner for it and I have a car in it

Hendrik is correct - there are also too many mistakes

Thanks guys, I'd missed that one on ebay, thanks Hendrik. Just had a 'look inside' at amazon and it doesnt look as good as the vw book. Is Brett Johnsons book a better bet?
Cheers, Johnny

Yes Brett's book is 100% better and more accurate, although it has it's own flaws and the pictures aren't always the best.
It's more of a book to refer to rather than one to read.
