Buyer beware. This is the much discussed car with the wrong shell, non matching engine etc. etc. IMO it should be described as a replica. Have a look at the thread on DDK about the Goodwood Revival auction, it was discussed at length there.

Not a good sign that the 're-shelled' part of the description has been dropped again

No but seriously lacking in correct info. You do pity the poor sods who keep getting landed with this if they don't know about its internet tales of woe....tarnished forever this car. Still at 50k it was a nice replica

I wonder if it has the famous opinion doc with it that says its genuine? That'd at least alert a buyer to the situation?

I'd love to get a look at it.

I have read it and that is the ONLY thing that says it's a real RS. The most amazing piece of fiction I have read since Arthur C. Clarke

Is it written by someone knowledgeable Nick? I'm astonished if it swayed the legal case!

By someone with an excellent reputation, and yes, it appears to have swung the legal wrangle.

I wonder if the court records are public anywhere? I'd love to read about the case.

Now that's what I call good selling! Handling all the objections in the sales description. Respect!

Next they ll be recommending it as'novelty appeal, for its notoriety.............i am with Nick , cant believe that Maxted Page lent their name to this farce !

U pays yer money and takes ur choice ......................why not just by a good rep that u like , at least then its what it purports to be , IMO this is one inflated rep pretending to be real whatver the court says ...............

Ditto.

This car has a price. In the 40's this would be a fantastic 2.7RS rep.

In the 70's well there are just so many mint example original cars you could get that will probably increase in rarity value over time and every time you got in it you knew what it really was.....

The last seller must have got about 50k net at auction for it and personally thats what I think the price should be. Bet he took a big hit though which is sad in anyones book

This car is forever going to be tainted now....you just couldn't park it in a 2.7RS carrera parking display AND be seen getting out of it
