Got to be honest here, I am interested, but would prefer to touch, see, smell !! before purchase. I also have very limited garage space and am worried that it would just get in the way more than it would be useful.
I think it is safest to count me out of this one !
So in short "No"
Cheers anyway

generally something like this will require a locking system for CE certification. usually this is in the form of a pilot operated check valve on the hydraulic lines which is automatic hence safer than a mechanical locking pin or whatever..

if when they arrive they don't have one let me know and I will pull up a few specs and see what i can source; we buy lots of these things at work and i spent most of my earlier years here specifing these parts for our machines.. would probably be cheaper to rework here than ship back for replacement!

This ebay guy is based in Mansfield. Sladey and moi are working in Mansfield so perhaps we ought to go in force and take some pictures tomorrow?

Good idea. The guy that has been in contact with the supplier is called Norman Verona. Norman did the import of stuff from China before so he and I are trying to get this group buy going.

Norman spoke to them this morning and I think that our two days to say yay is until the end of tomorrow which is a real pain! If you can get there to look at the quality, take pics, suss out the safety mechanism that'd be great to get a better feel.

a pilot check valve will prob be a metal block the size of a packet of fags, i would expect either one per cylinder connected with metal tubes (which i can't see in the picture) or a single one connected to both cylinders. If its what I expect hoses or tubes from each end of the cylinders will go to/from it..
these SHOULD be connected to the cylinder using solid lines (tubes) however lots of the time they're connected with hoses as its cheaper and more tolerant to length changes

If you look closely at the pictures there seems to be only a hose from the power unit to the first cylinder and then a connecting hose to the second cylinder. Both cylinders look to be single acting. You would expect any pilot check to be on the connection to each cylinder. As it is if a hose bursts without the mechanical lock in place the lift will come down unless there is a hose fuse fitted which cannot be seen.
The lock seems to be a mechanical one on the centre post between each cylinder.
I guess it is a bit like using a trolley jack, where you need to place stands underneath before working. In this case you need to put the mechanical lock on before working on the vehicle.
