356 Carpet

Post by Peter Roberts »

I have found a supplier of square weave carpet in Germany. Problem is I do not know how many sq metres I need and neither does the supplier. Apparently the roll is 1.4 metres wide. Does anyone have a clue? At present I have rubber front mats so assume a standard carpet set does not include this part. A sample is on the way to me so I can check the quality before ordering

If the quality is OK and I can find out how much I need per car I am quite happy to order a job lot or let everyone know where it is coming from. I am looking for Red. They also sell the proper tape for binding the edges. Finding a local carpet maker is easy if you have the pattern from the old one.

I would love a carpet set in black or very dark brown.
If anyone is getting rid of their old carpet set, please let me know, as Id be very interested.
If its not black, then I can still use it for a template set ;-)
I have a B coupe....
Thanks !!

Peter,
A German 356 supplier I use gave me the name Dopper in what was E.Germany as the manufacturer of the correct carpet. I have a fax no. only of 0049 2261 64954. I will be needing 2x sets in different colours.
Perhaps you could share your suppliers info. then we can compare?

I have had the sample through of the carpet in Red plus the edge binding and it looks to be spot on. I have also contacted Mr Dopper? who is also sending me samples. Will post the details once i get reply.
The problem still is that I do not know how many yards. sorry sq metres are needed to complete a car.
Regards
Peter

Hello,

I have a new carpet SET for a Bt6/C Coupe and could measure. When somebody is interested it is a high quality Haargarn Boucle like the original with textile ribbon, all in red colour and don´t need it anymore.
The carpet SET is not home made, I´m not able to do it, to cut is easy but haven´t the sewing machine to fixed the textile ribbon.

The company doepper is not far away from Koeln and the webside is
http://www.doepper-profile.de

Regards

Wolfgang
