Am I the only one that will be sorry to see these internal works of art hidden away in a oily thrashing frenzy of mad revs, manic wail & hipo horsepower?
Actually, on second thoughts...
Awesome.

Final set I promise! (for now)

Just another gratuitous view as the heads finally go on for the last time.

Image

Neil torque's them down.

Image

Racing oil tubes go on as the cam towers are fitted for good.

Image

The fibreglass shroud is fitted up and then the high butterfly goes on with the correct style barrel nuts.

Image

Neil puts the finishing touches to the build for the time being. Waiting on the oil fed cams to be finished and the solid rockers are still causing a few problems but hopefully will be sorted out soon.

Image

All for the time being............

What were the various surface sealants used on the case halves, saddles etc . Just nice to know (asking for Brendan  )?
Mike
Hi Mike, the sealant Neil uses is Loctite 574. He also uses a special assembly oil which he can supply it if you need some.
He also swears by Joe Gibbs assembly grease, specially formulated for running in a new build.

Hope that's of some use, regards to Brendan.

Hi Oliver, the mfi pump is an RSR spec 010 pump with a modified 6.3 Mercedes space cam. I have another spare 010 with which I'm thinking of trying
to replicate the actual look of the proper RSR pump by casting new front plates, just need an original to copy, you have any idea's?

Mike your engine just looks fantastic and like so many I love the porting of the heads, it truly is a work of art.

I will have to get polishing my heads before the rebuild :)

Keep up the great work and keep the pictures coming ...

"The fibreglass shroud is fitted up and then the high butterfly goes on with the correct style barrel nuts."

Standards are slipping..........I am sure not all the nuts are angled exactly the same way when tight - not a hope of winning that local PCGB Concours event :-)

Stunning work,
