Dougie

I saw this car being restored at my one and only visit to Autofarm with Mike (when he had his white RS replica) several years ago. I am sure you will find a picture of it as a masthead image on their website.

It has changed hands a few times since then I think but I would imagine Sean Lockyear bought it direct from Autofarm last year. It was off his website as 'sold' for a couple of months but has now returned.

I think this is a victim of a purchase at the very top of the market a couple of years ago and there has been some readjustment since then which is why (IMHO) it is stuck at a similar price to Autofarm's advertised price two years ago.

I think it is a rare 2.4S RHD base, in original Tangerine (blood orange), and you could therefore argue that it's 'upgrade' is a good or a bad thing re originality/value.

Regards
Mike

It's a lovely car and Sean has dropped his price £10K. It would cost at least that to build.

And I guess that's without factoring in the price of an original RHD 911S donor car (in this case chassis #925)?

This one's got a number of expensive original bits if I recall (as well as over £1,000 worth of stereo - although I don't know why you would bother turning it on  )

As Mike 210hp said we looked over this car in the as it was then Autofarm body shop. Really well done ST rear flares and beautiful paint, don't know if they are still with the car but a great pair of original Recaro buckets, seat alone worth 5 grand now.

cheers, Mike.

Have a drive down this weekend to God's Country for a look at it.

I am sure there was an article in the Yorkshire Post a few months ago about Sean Lockyer's wife running part of their "castle" as a b&b

I think this is the car that Adrian Grundy had Autofarm (no expense spared) build for him - he previously owned the original '71 Light Ivory ST that was bought by Paul Howells.

I seem to recognise those Recaros ...

That was Adrian Grundys car - I know because it used to be mine and I sold him to him. He's a great guy and as you say he used to own an original S/T but became concerned over using it because of the enormous value it had attained !
When I owned the car it was in it's original( !) mildly modified 2.4S rhd form - Adrian had the car delivered to Autofarm( I seem to recall Josh was noted on the logbook as a previous owner!) and as a previous poster noted spent an absolute fortune on in to make it into a "useable" S/T replica ( As I recall Autofarm worked on all of Adrians cars) and I think the conversion/modifications took somewhere around a year, the car was there when one of my RS's happened to be there, and I took a look at it and was very very tempted. It was also featured in "Total 911" magazine last year (including being the covershot) and received glowing reviews - I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to get hold of a back copy which lists the full spec' including the "retro radio" mentioned earlier !
If I didn't have another S/T replica already I'd buy it - again !

The work on this car was completed whilst I had my time at Autofarm and I would say it's one of the best pieces of work that Mickey has done. It was a true no expence spared job, i know as i used to have to pull the bills together, and yes there are many original parts, lets hope they are still there.

Adrian wanted a car that was usable he'd just shifted his 993 RS and 993C2 on through us so this was to be his only 911 at the time so it was set up with this in mind and was an exceptional drive, Josh insisted on test driving after every change/modification.

Highly recommended.
