New from Italy

Post by vipergreen »

After a long time lurking in the background, I think it’s about time to introduce myself and say hallo.
My name is Andrea, I am from Milan. I already know a couple of you –James hot66 and Mike 210hp- but would like to say hallo to all the other members, it’s always funny and instructive to read you.
Here’s my late-1972 2.4S (a couple of months younger than me, actually). It's an original car that has never been restored and shows its age in a few areas, but I like it this way.

I currently also have a 1975 930 turbo that has just finished a VERY slow restoration (sorry no photos yet) and a 1974 2.7 carrera that is waiting for me to decide what to do with it (restore or sell).
Last year I received a very high offer for my 964RS and sold it, a one-owner 6,500 miles from new car still on the original set of tires; I still kick myself for doing so, and have tried to buy it back a couple of times. One of the best-driving 911s ever IMO!

Cheers,
Andrea

Nice to see you here Andrea. Thanks for all your help in the past. Enjoy DDK and if we can help you in the future with anything we are only to happy to do so. You have one great advantage because your English is great and my Italian is rubbish. Say hello to all the RIP boys from us all here at DDK. Maybe we can organise a get together sometime. That would be something. 8)

Your car is looking tremendous. Any more pics? Looks to be a very nice interior peeking out in your photo.

Regards
Mike

Thank you James & Mike.

Mike, here is a photo of the interior :) . Sport seats are not original to this car, but I have the originals at home.

Regarding a get together, next month in Padova there's the italian "Techno Classica", smaller than the one in Essen but the most important Classic car event of the year over here. Registro Italiano P 911-912 will run the official Porsche stand togheter with registro 356, so if any of you is there, please stop by and have something to drink.

Andrea

Here's the link to the site of Auto Moto d'Epoca (that's the exact name). most of the answers should be here http://www.autoemotodepoca.com/?LID=1

I'll be there for sure on friday, if you go there to buy cars or parts is the only day to go, as afterwards the good stuff is usually sold. Still don't know if I'll stay over on saturday or sunday, still have to convince wife :?

Andrea

Ciao Andrea,

Sorry I missed you in Milan last week. I went to see Gianmaria and his workshop. He is doing a 2.4T with a Rome plate M0. I remember the car from the early 1970s when the T was parked at Piazza Balduina !!!

Is RIP doing the Carpineti thing next summer?

Also, I gave the DDK link to Gianmaria, so I expect him to join here as well !!

Ciao for now

Ciao Dom,

I went last night to Gianmaria's place to give him a couple of seats that he'll be doing for me.

Also saw the white 2.4T, nice story on that car you have!

Ciao

Gianmaria does really nice work. I can highly recommend him.

His E needs serious work done on it, and I wish him the best with it.
