final point regarding timings .... I have allowed enough time during the day for you to be able to stop en-route & do touristy things / have an extended lunch etc. We are passing through some loverly places & it would be a shame not to stop at some .

Of course, if you get your head down & blast through the route it means more time for a relax & beer at the hotel ;)

In theory, the route will take 5 hours + a lunch stop ..... but as we all know, calculated times + actual do vary quite a bit

ah well .... technically speaking I was aiming to be at St Bees for just before 9.00am ( although this might change depending on breakfast ;) ) ... so don't worry about it if you want an early start :)
