If we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place I'm putting new Recaro SPG's in the RSR....sure lots of people won't like them because they are not period...nor will they like my new cushions but its cool to see what everyone else has and good idea for a thread to inspire others!theorangeperil wrote:Actually, in the flesh they look very nice.
Not knocking them other than not my style but if Mike likes HIS seats then thats all that REALLY matters anyway

Loverly jubilee seats Mike
On the subject of seat covers, heres mine.
1st off the CMC 911 with its nappa leather and fabric seat covers.
I'm only 5' 10" tall and feel like a low down bum in the driving seat of the S with my eyes on the same level as the top of the steering wheel ( the seat has not sagged ).
I now borrow the v shaped back seat cushion and place it on the front seat and ------------- Perfect vision . Simples
A thought just occured for a further improvement.
in 1970 I bought a matching set of curtains and bedspread for my flat in Fulham from the Freemans Scene catalogue. I think LULU had something to do with it. I painted my bedroom in purple and cerisse ( as one did ) to match my new aquisition. When I moved I left the curtains for the next lucky owner but waltzed off with the bed cover.
This now resides on my Chipingdale table in my garden room.
A few years ago I purchased from a chap on ebay a very rare Recaro Paris seat. I was assured that Recaro made it to commerate the 1970 911 win in the Monte Carlo rally.
Now a lot seemed to be happening in 1970 as this was when my 911 was built so I am considering using my bedspread to cover the Recaro and fit it in the 911 as it's all contemporary. What you think

I'm happy with my GTS Nurburgring seats in the Porsche, basket weave.
Little off topic, sorry, but it's a "seat" or will be soon, for my home. I also love beetles and found the hood suitable to a chair construction...
The concept:
"Only" the upholstery left...Trying out the foam here. The hood is also painted white at the moment:
