Speedster towbar

Post by stevesprite »

I hoping to build a teardrop caravan to tow behind my speedster, (yea I know !) so that we can tour Europe next summer.

My main problem is getting a type aproved tow bar for the speedster. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I would hopefully like one with a detatchable goose neck, for obvious reasons.

regards

I would think that a type approved tow-bar is well nigh impossible to get for a Speedster. What about a modified version of the old style beetle one that attached round the torsion bar tubes, and had brackets up to the bumper mounts? Used to be the poor rally-man's substitute for a sump-guard!

Cheers! :drunken:

Buy a VW split pick up, fit a 2.0 injection and a tow bar, place your Speedster on the deck and your caravan at the tow bar.
This is nice combination!

might be worth a post on 356 registry - I'm sure someone in the states will have towed a caravan with a (genuine) Speedster at some stage and may be able to help !
