Group Buy - coco mats

Post by gridgway »

Assuming there is enough demand, I am organising a group buy of coco mats. These were very popular before:

http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17786

The coco mat website is here: http://www.cocomat.com/

The deal will be the same as before 20% price reduction for 10 sets or more. Sets are either two piece (front) or 4 piece (f&r). The shipping will be a fixed price (to be advise) like last time.

I think the selection of mat materials has increased from before as well.

Once we have enough people, I'll publish the details of where to send the money for mats and shipping.

In the meantime, please add your details:

Your name and DDK id if different
Car make, model and year (911s - whether Coupe or Targa also)
RHD or LHD
4pc or 2pc set
Colour (see the coco mat webby)

Yes, at this point I am collecting numbers and everything has to be finalised before pressing the button.

The costs on the coco website are the same as before. $189.95 for a set of 4 and $129.95 for fronts only. With discount that becomes $151.96 and $103.96

In GBP that'll be around 93gpb and 64gpb. Shipping will be of the order of 40gpb for 2 piece and 50gpb for 4 piece (it could be a bit more as the good old pound is weaker then it was last time.

Jeff will be confirming prices next week. I'll put them up as soon as I get them.

So we are up to 8 sets. Two more to go and we have lift-off!

In answer to Helen's question which I missed. I am planning on collecting the funds and then doing a runner. Ahhh, no I meant, collecting all the funds and passing them to Jeff.

I am also investigating other shipping options utilising Importman's good offices. It may not work out that the saving is worth any extra wait, but I'll see anyway.

quick update...

We currently have 12 sets (maybe 13 if I go for 2 sets), so we are past critical mass for the buy. I have collated all the details at home and will post them later for people to check (and fill in a few gaps).

I have been looking at postage. It's quite expensive as direct shipping from the US. However, there is another route using Importman's good offices. Jeff can package up the order into individually addressed packages and dispatch the lot in one go. Importman will ship them over the pond in one of his containers. I'll go and pick them up from Norfolk (I think) and either pass them to people local to me who can pass them on, or I'll pop them in the post.

I think that will be much cheaper. A 4 mat set will be about $90 direct to the uk. Using the more convoluted route I think it could be as low as 20gbp. The downside will be that the whole order will have to be completed as one and we have to time it to catch the boat. It'll be slower.

What do people think?

Graham
