Chaos obviously thought that the best way to take care of Barrie's 915 box was to use it for as short a time as possible....................... :roll:
3rd fastest overall in the PCGB class, only 0.19 sec behind the winner, and winning P3 comfortably 8)

rhdracer is picking up speed in his 914/6 now that the car's running consistently, and was supported by his new "development" lightweight driver!

JW scraped to the front in the breakaway "FOCA" class, helped by Bob missing a few gears in his Orange Dog RS Lightweight replica.

Fabulous weather, a good turn-out and great competition.

I know it's a bit off topic here, but interested to see the 924S is quicker than the Cayman S...? :shock:

Graham Rose is a very quick driver (and past PCGB champion?) in his fully stripped out and well prepared 924S, while the Cayman S was straight out of the showroom, with the driver at his first hillclimb event, so really it was a very good show all round. 8)

The Speed championship has been won at least 3 times already by 924 and 924S variants - so come and have a play with your one! :bom:

Already tried tarmac rallying in it at the HRCR Newcomers Rally School in April which was brilliant...

Yes JW - the car is, dare I say it......reliable!

The only problem is going through the speed trap at the bottom of the hill 15mph faster with my new engine focusses the mind somewhat!

Luckily, by the time the lightweight development driver is ready to drive the car really will be a relic at 55years plus, and I am sure she will show no interest at all! That's what I'm hoping...

Just waiting on the 'ultimate side shift linkage' from JWest in the States to match my Rennshift, and I will be able to hopefully fully concentrate on driving for the rest of the season...

Hi Wayne,glad to see she's running well at last.How much quicker are you going with the 3L and is the handling a lot different?
Is it Loton this weekend and Shelsley the week after?

Hi Matt

Car goes great - was hitting 85mph at Gurston whereas the 4 cylinder would only do 65-70 through the traps. My video of Castle Coombe a few weeks before shows about 130 on the speedo...much more like it!

The handling was terrible - the extra weight proved too much for the relatively standard set up (standard 19mm 911 torsion bars fr / 140lb springs on coil overs at the rear) and it turned it into a drift car! Much fun, but not fast!

I now have 22.6mm front torsion bars and 180lb springs on the rear and it is once more like a go-kart, just needs a trip to Centre Gravity for a proper alignment job.

Shelsley is 18th July then Loton 8th/9th August - hope to see you at one of them,
