356 seat belts

Post by pauldvern »

Hi,

I am after some nice period looking seat belts for my '59 A coupe. Has anyone bought any recently here in the U.K. ?

Cheers

Hi Paul,

I got some period looking 3 point belts with all chrome fittings from Quickfit a few months ago. Paul at PRS fitted them for me.

The belts are great, just make sure you get long enough webbing as the ones they initially supplied me were far too short.

Hope that helps.

mine too! I also recommend the quick release fitting that attatches the belt to the anchor - the fixed one ain't great - really nice belts tho

Thanks guys,

How much did you pay for the belts? Did you have to get extra bits to fit them into the car?

Paul,

For your info, to mount the seat belts behind the front seats, www.prs356.com can supply a pair of fixing plates with eye bolts for £50-according to their website. Look on 356 accessory page and you will see them. These items do not need to be welded to secure them.

As another hint to make the belt look tidy in the car, I sucure them when not in use by placing the metal securing clip ( which has a small hole in it )
onto the interior coat hook. Otherwise the belts can look messy just shoved in the rear compartment and pain when you want to get at them.

No wonder retractable ones were such a hit!
