Thanks Ian, well it's going to be ready when it's ready, that's the only way I can think about it at the moment, although the good news is the Carrillo rods turned up yesterday so the bottom end my start going together this weekend, maybe.......
cheers, Mike.

I've got quite a few special bits for the box, apart from the spray bars and pump gears which I've had made, and oil pipe take off housing which is being cast, I've aquired a pair of RSR selector shafts which are a bit special.

The shaft is threaded where the fork bolts on, so as once it's set up the fork cannot move on the shaft. Again all the parts have been refinished ready for assembly.

Yey :P

I'm so looking forward to seeing this one finished - the effort and detail is way beyond the comprehension of most of us and you clearly have the patience of a saint.

More stunning attention to detail on the gearbox too 8)

I thought that the later 915 'box was stronger in this area.
Most 'ordinary' people would have just used a later shaft.
There is nothing ordinary about you, or this car though
It will be superb when it is done, very inspirational.

Thanks again Ian, when I said maybe the bottom end would start going together this weekend I was of course forgetting it's a bank holiday, engine builders away

Hi tea boy, you're right, you could use an SC shaft, still needs modifying on the end though, but this is how they did it at the time.

cheers, Mike
