Garwood

Post by haasad »

Hi, yes its 700 HP on a shaft rear cockpit . Probably runs about 70 MPH on a good day. Sad thing is that its no longer coming to the uk this year.

I'll be keeping the driver of a B28 Bat Boat pointing in the right direction in a few events around Poole and the Solent.

I will post some snaps of that later since its pretty mad looking with an F16 Canopy and little stubby wings on both sides and the nose ( the one on the nose stops it drilling towards the seabed when you stuff it !!!!

Still its not as cool as the Garwood BUT it does run 98mph on a standard big block volvo with a DPX drive . Its even got an engine waranty !!!!

Graham, holding the painter might put him off

the comment said they were all ok, but I couldn't see them getting in over the bow of that inshore lifeboat.

Andy,

Was that a 22' speedster without its V- screen? And was that an original or a mahogany recreation?

Best regards,

Hi Bert "close but no cigar" its a 27 speedster and as you spotted the screen isn't on yet ( probably is by now though).

Its a new Garwood boat so I supose a little like the Cobra "continuations" one see's .

I'm really sad not to get to run it here but its not mine so thats life. I was really looking forward to getting some period garb and milking the posing opportunity :?

I see these new ones going for about 70 000 US or there abouts including the trailer.

If you see what amount of obscene money is being asked for fibrefab 1980-ties monstrosities, I find that positively dirt cheap for a stylish pleasure craft!

A bit like choosing a more expensive, nicely restored 2.2S vs a zeemaxed 911 targa widebody...

I believe one person went under the ferry and was recovered the other side and I'd imagine the other 2 were pulled around the bow and towards the back were the sponsons are lower.
