Hi TC - sorry for the late reply

The rear wheels are 9 x 15 Minilites , with 225/50/15 Toyo R888 tyres.

I love the look of Minilites on these cars - so much so , that I've got 8x15 ' s on the front at the moment

Thanks Mark, the reason I asked was my 2nd 914-6 I will be making a Marathon re-creation car. I bought a pair of 15x8 Superlites, but the offset was wrong and they were to wide for the flares. I will get the other offset offered (they only have 15x10, then 15x8 - no 9s)

Can't believe it is nearly 2 years since I started this thread !!

The car is now finally on the road - passed the MOT last Wednesday , then off to Bob Watson's on Thursday for a rolling road set up.
Bob has smoothed the engine out nicely - starts on the button , nice flat torque curve - albeit a slightly disappointing power figure - I would have expected more from a 3.0 with 3.2 pistons , Carrera 3 cams and 46mm PMO's - but hey-ho - the car is plenty fast enough for now.
There are still a few minor niggles to sort out - throttle linkage is a bit sticky - and gear linkage connector is hitting rear bulkhead and not allowing selection of 1st gear - but all in all I love it!!
Longer term I will have to sort out the exhaust - the 911 box just doesn't look right.

Mark, it looks good. What type of Horsepower numbers did you get? Is the RennShifter still in the car? Adjust your linkage while it is in the 2nd-3rd gear plane. Otherwise, you may need the rest of the linkage that James sells depending on the the gearbox you used.

Have Fun,

HI TC - thanks for the tip !
I still have the shifter that came with the car , and same linkage and gearbox - so not really sure what the problem is.
It seems that however the linkage is adjusted , gears 2-5 select fine (and reverse) , but the shift coupler is touching the rear bulkhead when selecting 1st - so not fully engaging.
As I see it the only way to solve this is to somehow shorten the rod from coupler to gearbox ? Does this make sense to you?

BTW - as you asked - power was 190 hp - a little disappointing - but there is bags of torque - and a nice flat curve - so it's plenty for now 8)
I guess it is a pretty low ratio box - pulls like a train in 5th !!

What motor mount are you using? I don't remember ever having a problem with the car going into 1st gear.

And yes, the gears are shorter, I will have to dig out the invoice from when the box was rebuilt, but I remember the top 3 gears were changed from Stock.
