Great stuff, what you've done in that time span is amazing.

Yep,
When i got it, It came with 14" fuch but they need re-polishing and detailing as they are a bit scruffy.
I like the look with the fuch but the 14's just dont look right in the arch's to me, and i haven't seen many early cars with burners on so thought it would look 8)

When i put it back on its wheels the other night i thought the stance looked wrong but couldn't work out why and after rolling it back and forth a few times gave up and did another job on the list.
but now looking at that photo i can see the gap on the rear arch and have realised i have put 2 front wheels on one side of the car and 2 rears on the other

just wondering what tyre combo's are you guy's running on your cars ?

Looking good, love the look of the gasburners are they original or repros?

Theres been various discussions about tyre sizes. I think on a 15x6 a 195/65 is the normal go to, personally I'd be tempted with 195/60 all round especially if your going to lower it abit.

bad :( and good :) news from the weekends tinkering

Firstly finished off the headliner on fri/sat morning, i'm pretty happy with it apperently boiling a kettle in the car will help get the last little crease's out.
Image
And cleaned up the sun visor's they came up pretty good after a good nailbrushing, here's a before and after,
Image
Also got all the carpets glued in and set the doors shuts and bolted the door tops on , But then started the engine to run the valve seat's in and it started leaking oil :( its managed to blow the cooler, not a big problem really and hopefully can get it sweated apart and repaired, just glad it didn't happen when i was out running it in.

so to cheer myself up i then spent 2 hours detailing the wheel centre caps, its amazing what you can do with some old airfix enamel model paints and a bit of time.
Image

The burners are repo's i got in a deal for a narrow beam i made for a split, they are the better quality one's but are still alot heaver than my mate old OG's,

Tonight's work will hopefully be finishing off the A and B pillars with some black vinyl and then putting in the front and rear screens ,

Haha I did that with some airfix enamel a few years ago, looked really good. Problem is it lasted about 3 weeks, the paint just really wasn't up to the job.

Good work on the headlining.

Well after having last week off and all that nice weather, its on the road :)

Been driving it around all weekend with a big grin on my face

Still got a few little jobs to do, retrim the front door panels and find the holes under the new headliner for the sunvisors  and finish polishing the dash,
But i can do these along the way, I now need to get some miles on the new engine and shake the car down to make sure every thing is OK before driving it up to London this coming weekend for the Volksworld show

Car looks great, nice one! What tyre size did you go with in the end?

Are those fuchs on a lupo?

Cheers Chris, went with 195 65's on the back and 185 65's on the front for now but gonna lower the back a bit so these mite change yet.

Good spotting those are Fuch's on my Lupo they were sitting in my garage doing nothing so made some adapters and stuck them on, they do need a good polish though

Nice work automan, the car looks fantastic and I'm amazed at the results in such little time.

Picking my car up from Revival cars in Staines tomorrow and might head over to the Volksworld Show afterwards, will keep an eye out for your car if I make it.
