What do you think of this color?

Post by TheBaron »

I was originally going to go "slate grey" but came across this color the other day, which was an original color option for the 356's in the 50's the color ref is:

Graphite Metallic 5403

Here is a link to what the color looks like on a 356:

Which color would you go for?

Slate grey out of the 2 ... IMHO it's always worth it in the long run to repaint the shell as it left the factory originally. Outlaw 356's , but in the original colour, are great 8)

to be totally honest i am not mad about either option. But if it has to be between those then i would proberly opt for the slate grey...

Mrs. Mycar loves the graphite. Is it a Farrow and Ball colour?

I thought slate grey was only a 356 b/c original colour but I could be wrong. Not that it matters cause it would look cool anyway. That graphite is pretty nice too. Decide the week before its about to get sprayed because if you're like me the final colour choice changes from week to week.

Slate grey, but only if you then let the local kids wash it with a grit covered sponge and restore the original look!

The graphite metallic looks nice, but I would go for the slate grey.

Interesting results so far.

I posted the same poll on the 356 registry and it is the exact opposite of the results from this poll.

Still not sure which way to, i really need to see both in the flesh.

Does anyone have there car in one of the above colors that i could come and have a look at?

Regards

Hi

Both colors are truly georgous but for me metallics work better on As because the light catches the curves better

have you seen the publicity photo page 83 in brian longs new 356 book, i think this looks absolutely stunning and could be graphite metallic?

just my opinion of course!!!

Thanks Botham re the reference, I do have that book and have looked at the pic, it is Graphite metalic, it looks almost brown in some lights.

I was down at Roger Brays the other day having a look at my car and they had a slate grey and that made my mind up

I am going for Slate Grey, it just suits the car more, the other color is very Fiat esk, and just looks to modern.

Thanks for everyones help

Something tells me those are colours very difficult to capture in photo so difficult to say without seeing in the flesh....
