The 'Maverick' Classic Porsche Forum and Classic Porsche Club for Porsche 356, Aircooled Porsche 911, Porsche 912, Porsche 914 & Porsche Replicas. 'We join for the cars but stay for the people'
Classic & Sports Car magazine is looking for several 356 owners to profile for a forthcoming issue. If you have owned a car for a long time, carried out an extensive restoration, done some epic journeys or use your car extensively, then we would love to hear from you.
•Trip to Nurburg Ring with very early 911
•Engine oil problem
•Try to fix problem
•Call insurance for help
•Told no policy and make own arrangements
•Get car home
•Complain to insurance co and end up in battle with ombudsman
•Win battle but get pennies when damage cost thousands
•Learn and rebuild engine but put in a few mods
•Re-insure car and almost ready for MOT
Or
•Car hit by boss while parked
•Car taken to best firm
•Car painted and now two colours with over spray and paint runs
•Firm offers to repaint
•Offer rejected
•Paint sent to compensate
•Found out from Porsche car was different colour so stuck with lots of wrong paint
•Car still two colours due to expenditure on engine after Germany trip
Oh the joys of tub ownership. Its the old story of man loves car, car loves cash.

Yep all true just ask Mark with the pre A. He has seen my motor from road going daily driver to expensive garden ornament. Well I agree if I had know about tub ownership wows then I would have paid the extra for the Alpine A110 I was looking at.
But tub n me have this love-hate relation ship thing going on.
