Pre-a Cabrio ventilation question

We took a trip in the car that turned out to be pure misery as it rained for three hours straight.

I unfortunately discovered that no air came in the fresh air vents unless the windows were open. Kind of defeats the purpose of windows if you have to leave them open in the rain.

Any suggestions?

Also, who was the brainiac that came up with the idea of the wiper blades parking on the windshield bend?

can't help you i am afraid I have not even driven my car yet

but I was thinking I don't think we have a fan on our cars but we have the vents that we would pull ( well on a 54 anyway ) under the dash on either side.. so by opening the window eg crack it open then I can see it causing an air flow but with the windows shut it would not..

was your screen misting up?

I wounder if this is a future mod with a 6v fan and a few bits of well hiden hose..

Mark is right that only with the windows open will you get air flow that you'll notice.
As for the windscreen wipers, try driving in snow with the earlier type wipers that pack the snow in the middle of the windscreen. Boy, I can laugh about it now!
I use rain-ex or something similar and don't bother with wipers at all (I see them as ornaments on the car to make it legal), if I use the wipers when it's raining they only make the visibility worse!

Barry and all,

Hardly ever seen comments about misting up 356's before! Maybe everyone is embarassed to mention it. My "A" in the rain and cold is hopless although its many years since I got caught in heavy rain. I decided after all those hours welding to keep away from that.

Sure I tried the fresh air vents and always ended up with the window open.

From memory the 356C was better than the "A" I used that car every day rain or shine. Of course it went rusty but has been rescued as we see from other threads on this forum and now looks far better than when I owned it!!

Nice to see that question come up because I have always wondered what others did to try to improve.

Use rain-x for the outside and rain-x anti fog for the inside! they both work very well!
