Fog/driving lights

Post by Lazza »

I am looking to identify the right lights for the police car.

They appear from the photos to be identical to the lights often fitted to Speedsters, several of which appear in this months 356 Registry magazine.

These are the type that fit to the body, not on the bumper or mounted on a bar.

Does anyone have any details on what these lights were and where one might find some? - repro's are fine.

sorry i've not got any better photos. we need both the lights on the front of the car above the bumper (which are blue glassed)and also the spot lights which are on the top of the window frame.

You could get the next best thing

I have one only and I have seen more of them.. blue tipped lights so they are clear but the centre has a blue tip

these are about and you could find them fairly easy..good temp fix untill you find another pair and I would be interested in buying them off you later I want these on my car..

not worried about them being blue as we can have them tinted....this isn't the problem.

its the Fog lights that are fixed onto the front of the car (not onto the bumper or grill). where can we get some of these lights from?

nearest Ive seen are these motorbike ones - 4.5".

I guess the main thing is how they fit to the body?

Hi, Marchal and Bosch made various skin mount fog and spot lights. They are quite rare over here because most British manufacturers used Lucas ( who also made a skin mount lamp often seen on XK Jags) Best bet is European Autojumbles, Retromobile next week or Essen if your pockets are deep enough! Or wait till Beaulieu in September. If you can get good pictures or even a reasonably accurate diameter I could ask around as i have good contacts for old Bosch stuff. Hope to help.
