Does anyone know a 1957 356 reg no ESK 383

Post by TheBaron »

Hi

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about my old car, it was an AFN imported RH original, 1957 reg no. ESK 383 was originally blue, when I bought it was red and I had it sprayed silver, it apparantley raced in the Mille Miglia not confirmed though.

I sold it at auction for around £9000 at BCA Bristol around 4yrs ago

Would love to know what has happened to her and if she might be up for sale

Thanks

Stephen

I noticed your number come up in a PCGB register of 356's owners in 1992. I see it then belonged to a V.Mansueto. it was registered as a 1957 1600S.

About 160 356's from 1950 -1665 are listed. Anyone who is completely stuck and have only the reg number of a car and no history might at least find the named person who owned the car as late as 1992. I could look through the list if necessary.

I knew Vincent Mansueto (sadly died a few years ago).
I bought my '62 B from him in 2000. He didn't have any other 356s at the time but he did have 911 Turbo and Karmann Ghia though.
What I think of his restoration talents can't be printed. :x

ESK 383 is an age-related number - do you know what the original registration number was ?

Hi

Thanks for the info, I dont have the original number plate, she was a real dog, being an original UK right hand drive, so i presume who ever has her she is in bits being restored.

I wish them the best with it, I now have my project which is being documented here hopefully on a regular basis.

Regards

S
