I think you're right, I remember seeing the car on Ebay and it stated that it had been resprayed in VW Lemon Yellow - looks good though.
Aha, okay now it becomes clear. I couldnt find "lemon yellow" as a colour code in the 964 range so I assumed therefore it must have been a colour to sample.
I also assumed that therefore the dealer might not know about the magical chartreuse and called the colour "lemon yellow".
Teaches me right: never assume but check check check. That statement is also valid when delivering heat exchangers so I have been told

I did once work on a factory lemon yellow coloured 964RS lightweight.
