That is stunning but I bet its a bugger to keep clean and shows up every possible tiniest of tiny hairline dust scratch you could imagine.....ask how I know :x

I understand what you mean...
I've decided that I do like them on other peoples 356C's or SC's.
Wouldn't dream of putting them on my own 356.
On the other hand - I will never ever own a 356B or C...
356A is the newest on my "356's I want to own list".

may i ask why ?
i like all of them but i love the C as its got the advantage of disc breaks, not to mention it runs off 12v so is alot easier to use everyday on UK roads.

My interest is in the early ones, the earlier the better. Crash boxes, divided windscreen, the detailing of the early cars, etc, that what gets me going.
I love the shape of the body of the early cars. If you put a pre-A, an A, an B T5 and a C side by side, you see the design evolution very clearly.
For me, newer is less "pure"...

I also do have another Porsche, a 1974 Carrera ROW. This car more than satisfies my need for speed and modern stuff like disc brakes etc.

When I compare my two cars, 1954 1500 Normal with 55hp and 1974 Carrera 2.7 with 210hp, and see the evolution in just 20 years - it's staggering how much did happen in those years.
If you step another 20 years from 1974 - we end up 1994.
Ok, the difference is very much there, but it's not staggering in comparison.
